Ile de Ré, 24-29 June 2024, fully booked

The location

The « Ile de Ré » is an island off the Atlantic coast of France, near «  La Rochelle ». There, we shall find beautiful landscapes : fishing villages, golden beaches, salt marshes, lighthouses... I am invited there to teach by the «  atelier de Casserons » , in the village of Ars-en-Ré, listed as one of the “most beautiful villages in France”.  

Dates

From Monday June 24th to Saturday June 29th 2024 included. On Monday Morning, we shall meet at 9:30 a.m., and the last session on Saturday will end around 1:30 p.m.  

Program

We shall paint outdoors, on location. I will propose painting locations that we shall reach by bicycle or electric bike. You can choose to make a “Travel sketch book” or “pure » painting. All levels and techniques are accepted. The tuition consists of group demonstrations as well as individual help. We shall paint every morning from 9:30 a.m. until lunch, around 1:30 p.m. The painting session can be postponed, if it takes some time to reach the painting location. Outside of the painting session, you are free to continue drawing or painting, rest, or visit the island...  

Price: € 390

This price includes the organization, tuition, general costs of the workshop. It does not include transport and accommodation or any insurance specific to the workshop. Reservation deposit : €180, non-refundable after May 15th.  

Access and Accommodation

You have to reach the town of La Rochelle (2h45 or 3h00 from Paris by train) then take a bus to Ars-en-Ré (1h30). Then on the island, you can easily get about by bike or electric bike. The atelier des Casserons has got 3 rooms to rent and will also give you a list of accommodation in the surroundings.
