I paint primarily from life, “en plein air,” from natural or urban landscapes. From these real subjects, I aim to capture the atmosphere, the light, and the energy, not a collection of details. Technically, my paintings are painted in one session, “alla prima”, thus preserving as much as possible of the freshness and spontaneity of the pictorial process. Without planning it, I very often set up my easel “by the water”, facing the sea, in a port, in front of a river… from Tangiers to the Canary island, or Venice… The “Couleur du jour” gallery will present a wide selection of works from this direction.
