The location
The « Ile de Ré » is an island off Atlantic coast of France, near « La Rochelle ». There, we shall
find beautiful landscapes : fishing villages, golden beaches, salt marshes, lighthouses... Our
morning meeting point will be in Loix, a small and beautiful village of the island.
Dates
From Monday 7th to Saturday 12th of September 2026 included. On Monday Morning, we shall
meet at 9:30 a.m., and the last session on Saturday will end around 7 p.m.
Program : landscape and life drawing
We shall paint outdoors, on location. You can choose to make a “Travel sketch book” or “pure » painting. All levels and techniques are accepted : watercolor, oils, gouache... The tuition consists of group demonstrations as well as individual help. We shall paint every morning from
9:30 a.m. until lunch, around 1:30 p.m. The painting session can be postponed, if it takes some
time to reach the painting location. Outside of the painting session, you are free to continue drawing or painting, rest, or visit the island...
Price:
€ 425
This price includes the organization, tuition, general costs of the workshop. It does not include
transport and accommodation or any insurance specific to the workshop. Reservation deposit :
€ 200, non refundable after August 1st.
Access and Accommodation
You have to reach the town of La Rochelle (2h45 or 3h00 from Paris by train) then take a bus to your accommodation
( For ex, Ars-en-Ré 1h30). Then on the island, you can get about by bike or electric bike.
I can provide information about accommodations : bed & breakfasts, airbnb, hotels, camping places...
