I paint primarily from life—en plein air—capturing natural or urban landscapes. Although I adopt the classic distinction between city and nature in the title of this exhibition, that separation does not truly exist for me.

In any case, I aim to create a color composition that captures the atmosphere, light, and energy of nature, rather than a collection of details. Technically, these paintings are executed in a single session—alla prima—thereby preserving the freshness and spontaneity of the painting process to the fullest extent.

The galerie “Couleur du jour” will present a wide selection of works—urban or natural landscapes painted on the rooftops of Tangier, in the countryside of Burgundy, on a Thai island, or in the Parisian night…
