The location
Kerala is a small and narrow state located along the southwestern tip of India. There, you will discover beautiful natural landscapes and a traditional culture that is still very much alive. The warm, relatively educated and tolerant population is harmoniously divided between Hindus, Christians and Muslims.
The "Backwaters" are one of the most typical landscapes of Kerala: an amazing network of canals and water lagoons parallel to the sea, aside from the Malabar coast. A real treat for our artist eyes !
In Kerala you will also discover very beautiful shores on the Arabian Sea, high-altitude tea plantations, the old houses of the colonial city of Cochin... and also all the little surprises of Indian daily life.
The dates :
From February 17 to 26, 2025 included
The program :
We'll be drawing and painting on location. I will suggest viewpoints that we will reach by foot , taxi or tuk tuk. All levels are welcome. The teaching method consists of group demonstrations and individual corrections. Our painting session takes place every morning from 9:30 a.m. until lunchtime, around 1:30 p.m., but can be postponed if you need to reach the "motif" by taxi, for example. Outside painting time, you're free to continue painting, rest, or explore Then we will resume for about 1h30 hours at the end of the day, to meet up and enjoy the sunset.
I have planned the following route:
- the old colonial town of Cochin
- the " Backwaters"
- a seaside resort on the arabian sea
- a departure from Trivandrum
I think you would be better off arriving 2 days before and adding a few days after the workshop, to total at least about fifteen days in Kerala.

This price includes the organization, tuition fees, the general expenses of the studio. It does not include transport and accommodation or any specific insurance for the workshop.
